March is B Corp Month 2023 and we are so excited to celebrate our 2nd year as a Certified B Corporation! Balancing purpose with profit and working towards a better common planet is at the heart of everything we do. We’re so grateful to be a part of this interconnected ecosystem of like-minded companies all “going beyond” this year in our commitment as B Corps.
As a Canadian agency working with Challenger Brands, we thought, “What better opportunity to highlight some of our favourite Canadian B Corporation Challenger Brands on our radar this year.”

1.Reunion Coffee Roasters
A family-owned Canadian specialty coffee roaster, Reunion Coffee Roasters has been a Certified B Corporation since 2013. With a flagship location in Toronto and a second in Oakville, RCR has been in business for more than four decades, offering both wholesale and private-label delicious coffee. RCR is deeply committed to its sustainable mission and has Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, Organic, and Swiss Water Process-certified coffees. Each of these designations requires strict standards of performance to obtain. Yes to ethical coffee!
2. Frank And Oak
Certified as a B Corp in Canada in 2019, Frank And Oak—founded in 2009—quickly took over the hearts of consumers with sustainable fashion and personalized shopping experience both online and in 15 shops in North America. Working with innovative fabrics and inspired by ethical thinking, Frank And Oak delivers thoughtful and beautiful designs for men and women, supported by its accessories lines.
3. SPUD
A sustainable grocery store, SPUD delivers premium products in the provinces of BC and Alberta. A Certified B Corp since 2013, SPUD sources local as much as possible, working with 60+ local farmers and 800 local vendors in Western Canada. Through carpooling groceries, SPUD has been able to eliminate the use of 500,000+ cars on the roads in 2023 alone! Now, that’s a Challenger Brand reinventing its key operation—grocery delivery—to better serve the environment and SPUD’s customers.
4. Pela
This Canadian Certified B Corp has an ambitious vision—to create a waste-free future. Since setting out to create phone cases and accessories like watch straps and AirPods cases out of environmentally sensible materials, Pela has prevented the equivalent of more than 48 million (!) plastic bags from entering our oceans. We wholeheartedly support this Challenger Brand in reaching their goal of preventing 1 billion pounds of waste.
5. Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company
In 2013, Beau’s became the first brewery in Canada to achieve Certified B Corp status and continues to innovate today. This Earth Day, the brewery is launching Beau’s for Bees to help save the bees in Ontario through its small batch release, Cross Pollination Farmhouse Ale made from Ontario wildflower honey.
